Amazon vs. Perplexity: The AI Shopping Battle

Amazon has issued an aggressive legal threat and filed a lawsuit against AI startup Perplexity over its "agentic" shopping tool, Comet. Amazon alleges that Comet violates its terms of service by covertly accessing customer accounts and disguising automated purchases as human browsing. Perplexity is fighting back, calling Amazon's move "bullying" and a threat to user rights to deploy AI assistants to shop on their behalf.
