Anthropic Tests ‘Claude for Chrome’ Extension—AI Agent That Acts in Your Browser

Anthropic has launched a limited pilot of Claude for Chrome, a browser extension that integrates its AI assistant directly into Chrome. Available to 1,000 users on the Max plan ($100–$200/month), it adds a chat sidebar and can perform actions (like clicking or form-filling) within the browser—subject to user permissions. Safety features, including site restrictions and high-risk action confirmations, cut prompt-injection attack rates from 23.6% to 11.2%.
