Arm has appointed Rami Sinno, formerly Amazon’s AI chip director behind Trainium and Inferentia, as it pivots toward developing its own complete chips and chiplets. This significant shift from its traditional licensing model signals Arm’s intention to enter full semiconductor production. Supported by SoftBank, the company is reinvesting profits and strengthening its leadership with hires from HPE, Intel, and Qualcomm to enhance its capabilities in the high-performance AI chip market.
