Elon Musk's xAI Acquires Memphis Property to Expand Colossus Supercomputer

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has purchased a 1-million-square-foot property in Southwest Memphis, Tennessee, to enhance its AI infrastructure. This acquisition supports xAI's December 2024 plan to expand its Colossus supercomputer to house over one million GPUs, aiming to surpass competitors like OpenAI. The Greater Memphis Chamber confirmed that Colossus is progressing toward supercluster status.
