UK conservationists are using European Space Agency satellite data and AI to help protect declining hedgehog populations. Researchers from University of Cambridge are mapping dense vegetation areas where hedgehogs nest and forage. By combining orbital imagery with ground cameras, the project aims to identify habitat gaps and support conservation efforts before the species declines further.
