Apple Plans Five New Satellite Features for iPhones

Apple is reportedly developing five new satellite connectivity features for iPhones, moving beyond basic emergency texting. The planned updates include satellite-enabled Apple Maps for off-grid navigation, the ability to send photos via satellite messaging, and an API for third-party app integration. Apple is also working to improve connectivity so the phone can connect even when in a pocket, with future advanced services possibly requiring a paid subscription.
