Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is taking its first-ever equity stake in a film studio, investing $75 million into independent powerhouse A24. Through this multiyear, non-exclusive research partnership, Google DeepMind will collaborate with A24 filmmakers to build AI-powered production workflows—such as automated storyboarding. Crucially, the agreement protects creative control, and A24’s extensive content library remains strictly off-limits for AI model training.
