It requires them to publish safety reports, disclose model-risks, and report incidents to state authorities. Employees will gain protected channels to flag concerns—even if they signed NDAs. Endorsed by Anthropic, SB 53 aims to create meaningful check-and-balance on large AI labs operating in California.
