Deloitte to Refund $440K to Australian Government Over AI-Generated Report Errors

Deloitte has agreed to repay part of a $440,000 fee to the Australian government after admitting to using generative AI in a report that contained multiple errors. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations confirmed that Deloitte would refund the final installment under the contract. The report, initially published in July, identified major flaws in the welfare compliance framework, but was later found to have inaccuracies, including fabricated citations.
