From Zero to Mars: Eric Schmidt’s Unproven Rocket Startup Wins NASA Contract

NASA has tapped Relativity Space, led by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, to build and launch the "Aeolus" Mars orbiter in 2028. The privately funded mission will carry four NASA instruments to map Martian winds and dust storms. It is a high-stakes gamble for NASA; despite securing the deep-space contract, Relativity’s unproven Terran R rocket has yet to successfully reach orbit.
