GM Scales Back EV Production Ahead of $7,500 Tax Credit Sunset

Despite record-breaking EV sales in August, General Motors is pulling back production of vehicles like the Cadillac Lyriq, Vistiq, and Chevy Bolt EV. The company plans a December pause and reduced output into early 2026 at its Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, and has indefinitely postponed a second shift at its Kansas City Bolt plant.
