India Launches ₹1 Lakh Crore RDI Scheme to Empower Deep‑Tech Startups & Manufacturing
India's Union Cabinet approved the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) Scheme on July 1 to finance deep-tech startups and domestic manufacturing in sunrise sectors like AI, robotics, quantum, biotech, and semiconductors. It offers long-term, low or zero-interest loans and equity via a two-tier structure managed by ANRF and DST. With ₹20,000 cr already budgeted and an ANRF-led Deep-Tech Fund of Funds, the plan aims to boost private R&D, job creation, and global competitiveness.
