The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has dismissed viral social media claims suggesting that the Indian government is monitoring private WhatsApp chats through a new surveillance system. The hoax claimed that "three red ticks" indicated government action or arrest. PIB clarified that these reports are entirely fake and urged citizens not to circulate misinformation.
