Intel Announces Over 5,500 US Job Cuts in Major Restructuring Under CEO Lip-Bu Tan

Intel will lay off more than 5,500 employees across the United States—impacting 1,935 roles in California, 2,932 in Oregon, and 696 in Arizona—surpassing earlier projections of around 4,000. The cuts, formalized through WARN filings, are part of CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s strategy to streamline operations, reduce costs, and sharpen the company’s position in the CPU and AI GPU markets.
