Intel CEO Tan Weighs Pivot from 18A to 14A Foundry Tech to Lure Apple & Nvidia

Intel’s new CEO, Lip‑Bu Tan, is mulling a strategic shift in the company's foundry arm—ceasing promotion of the delayed 18A process to external clients and accelerating development of the more advanced 14A node to better compete with TSMC and attract major customers like Apple and Nvidia. This move may necessitate a significant write‑off of investments. The board is set to review the plan this summer and autumn.
