Judge Dismisses Florida RICO Suit Against Deel, But Dispute with Rippling Continues

A Florida judge has dismissed a RICO-based lawsuit filed by Melanie Damian, the receiver for Surge Capital Ventures, which accused Deel of processing payments that violated U.S. sanctions. Deel touted the ruling as a “Rippling-aligned” case victory—clarifying, however, that it is not connected to the separate, ongoing lawsuit filed by competitor Rippling involving allegations of espionage and trade secret theft. Rippling maintains its case remains active and unrelated.
