Microsoft Secures $9.7B AI Chip Deal with IREN
Microsoft signed a five-year, $9.7 billion cloud services contract with Australian AI infrastructure provider IREN to gain access to a large supply of Nvidia's GB300 processors. This strategic partnership is designed to help Microsoft address the industry-wide shortage of AI cloud capacity amid soaring demand for its Azure AI services. IREN will deploy the new chips at its Texas campus, with the deal including a 20% prepayment from Microsoft.
