Microsoft Secures AI Power with $9.7 Billion IREN Deal

Microsoft signed a five-year, $9.7 billion cloud services contract with AI infrastructure provider IREN for guaranteed access to advanced Nvidia GB300 chips. The strategic deal, which includes a prepayment, aims to ease Microsoft's severe AI compute capacity crunch expected to last until mid-2026. IREN will deploy the GPUs through 2026, bolstering Microsoft's ability to meet soaring AI demand.
