New Google Play Feature Alerts Users to Battery-Draining Apps

Google Play will introduce a new alert system to notify Android users when an app consumes too much battery in the background. Using an "excessive partial wake locks" metric, apps that keep the CPU active for over two hours in a 24-hour period will be flagged. Starting March 1, 2026, such apps will display a red warning message on their Play Store listings, helping users maintain better battery life.
