In response to escalating trade tensions with the United States, Indian ministers are actively promoting domestic alternatives to popular U.S. tech platforms such as Google Maps, WhatsApp, and Microsoft products. This initiative, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "swadeshi" campaign, gained momentum after the U.S. imposed a 50% tariff on Indian imports in August.
