Valve CEO Gabe Newell's startup, Starfish Neuroscience, plans to release its first brain-computer interface chip in late 2025. Unlike Neuralink, Starfish's minimally invasive chip aims to record and stimulate multiple brain regions without requiring a battery, operating on just 1.1 milliwatts via wireless power. The company seeks collaborators to develop the full implant system, with potential applications in neurological therapies and future gaming enhancements.
