Arattai Messenger Sees 100× Surge as India’s Homegrown WhatsApp Alternative

Arattai, Zoho’s made-in-India messaging app, experienced a 100-fold jump in user signups after endorsements by government ministers urging citizens to adopt indigenous platforms. The app supports texting, voice and video calls, media sharing, stories, channels, and multi-device use. Though it’s rapidly gaining popularity, Arattai currently lacks full end-to-end encryption for messages, a key challenge in competing with WhatsApp’s privacy standard.
