Banshee Malware Targets macOS Users, Evades Detection by Mimicking Apple's XProtect

A new macOS malware, Banshee Stealer, has emerged, targeting user credentials, browser data, and cryptocurrency wallets. Discovered in mid-2024, Banshee employs sophisticated evasion techniques, including using Apple's XProtect encryption algorithm, allowing it to remain undetected by antivirus engines for over two months. Distributed via phishing websites and fake GitHub repositories, it poses a significant threat to macOS users.
