Microsoft Reports Surge in AI-Driven Cyberattacks by Russia and China

Microsoft's latest digital threats report reveals a significant uptick in AI-powered cyberattacks from Russia and China against U.S. targets. In July 2025, over 200 instances of AI-generated fake content were identified, more than double the previous year. These adversaries are leveraging AI to automate cyberattacks, spread disinformation, and breach sensitive systems, including government and critical infrastructure.
