Tech giants Amazon and Microsoft are reportedly supporting the GAIN AI Act, new legislation aimed at restricting Nvidia's ability to export advanced AI chips. The Act mandates that US chipmakers must prioritize domestic orders before fulfilling requests from foreign customers. This move, also backed by Anthropic, is driven by concerns over safeguarding American access to critical components and curbing China's military AI capabilities.
