Apple Sued for Allegedly Using Copyrighted Books to Train Apple Intelligence

Apple is facing a proposed class action lawsuit in a California federal court, filed by neuroscientists Susana Martinez-Conde and Stephen Macknik. They claim Apple used pirated “shadow library” copies of their books and thousands more without authorization to train its Apple Intelligence AI system. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and a court order preventing further misuse of their copyrighted works.
