CERT-In Warns of New 'GhostPairing' Scam Hijacking WhatsApp Accounts

CERT-In has issued a high-severity alert regarding the "GhostPairing" campaign. Hackers exploit WhatsApp's device-linking feature to gain full account access without requiring passwords or SIM swaps. The scam begins with deceptive messages from trusted contacts leading to a fake verification page. By tricking victims into entering pairing codes, attackers can read messages, access media, and impersonate users through web sessions.
