CISA Issues New OT Cybersecurity Guide: Asset Inventory Framework

CISA, in collaboration with international agencies, released the “Foundations for OT Cybersecurity: Asset Inventory Guidance for Owners and Operators” guide to strengthen cyber defenses in critical infrastructure sectors. It outlines the use of ISA/IEC 62443–based taxonomies, categorizing assets into Zones and Conduits, and recommends tracking 14 critical attributes—from IP and MAC addresses to asset criticality and protocols.
