DRDO Develops New-Gen Underwater Vehicles for Mine Missions

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), has successfully developed a new generation of Man-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (MP-AUVs). These AUVs are designed for mine countermeasure missions, utilizing Side Scan Sonar and deep learning algorithms for autonomous mine classification.
