EC Bans Unconsented AI Content in Elections

The Election Commission of India (EC) has directed all political parties to stop publishing AI-generated content that misrepresents a person's identity, appearance, or voice without explicit consent. The EC stated that this "masquerading" content poses a "deep threat" to a level playing field. Furthermore, all AI-generated content must be clearly labelled as such in all election campaigning materials.
