France Opens World’s First Wireless Charging EV Road

France has activated the world's first self-charging wireless electric highway near Paris. The 1.5-kilometer road, developed by Electreon, contains copper coils underneath the asphalt, capable of charging multiple electric vehicles—including buses and trucks—while in motion at speeds up to 200kW. This innovation aims to increase EV range and potentially reduce the need for large, heavy batteries.
