India to Establish Key AI Governance Bodies by December

The Indian government will establish two key bodies—the Artificial Intelligence Governance Group (AIGG) and a Technology and Policy Expert Committee (TPEC)—by December. These inter-agency groups will unify policymaking on AI, with the AIGG focusing on coordination and setting up an India-specific risk assessment system. The move aligns with objectives in the India AI governance guidelines, ensuring policy consensus ahead of the India AI Summit.
