Instagram Tests Making Reels the Default Home Tab in India

Instagram is experimenting with a new layout that places Reels as the default home tab, followed by Direct Messages — currently in an opt-in test in India. The revised feed begins with the usual Stories bar, but scrolling shifts into a full-screen vertical Reels view. Photos from followed accounts still appear, though how they are integrated remains unclear.
