Intel’s Big Comeback: Alphabet Orders 3 Million Custom AI Chips to Break TSMC Monopolies

Alphabet's Google has placed a massive order with Intel to manufacture more than three million custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) in 2028. This deal signals a major win for Intel's manufacturing turnaround against rival TSMC, sending Intel shares up 13%. Meanwhile, Nvidia is also evaluating Intel’s advanced packaging tech to combine graphics chips, following Tesla's recent commitment to use Intel's next-gen 14A process.
