Signal has finally launched secure, end-to-end encrypted message backups for iOS users, addressing a major feature request. The opt-in feature provides a free tier for all text messages and 45 days of media, protected by a unique 64-character recovery key. A $1.99 monthly subscription offers 100GB of media storage beyond the 45-day limit, ensuring all chat history is safely restorable if a device is lost.
