Space Technology Becoming Central to Governance, Driving Public Services

On National Space Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that space technology is now "an integral part of governance" in India, aiding everything from crop insurance assessments and real-time safety information for fishermen to disaster response and infrastructure planning through geospatial data in the PM Gati Shakti plan. He invited the private sector to contribute, targeting five space-tech unicorns in five years and scaling launches to 50 annually.
