A former Black SpaceX technician, L’Tavious Rice, has filed a federal lawsuit alleging racial discrimination and retaliation after being terminated in August 2024 for tardiness—tied to caring for his daughter post-heart transplant. Rice contends white colleagues were routinely late yet faced no consequences, and supervisors allegedly manipulated time records. He claims HR enforced rules strictly after he agreed to testify against a supervisor, seeking $500K+ for emotional distress & lost wages.
