A viral TikTok prank uses AI to create images of a “homeless intruder” inside homes or schools, which are then sent to unsuspecting recipients to incite fear. Recipients, believing the images real, have called police, diverting emergency resources. Authorities in the U.S. and U.K. are warning that the hoax wastes law enforcement time, risks public safety, and could carry legal consequences for creating false emergencies.
