Windows 11 Ditches Blue Screen for New Black “Black Screen of Death” Design
Microsoft has introduced a redesigned “Black Screen of Death” (BSOD) in Windows 11, replacing the decades-old blue error screen with a simplified black layout that removes the sad face and QR code. Initially rolling out to Release Preview users, the update presents stop codes and faulty driver names more clearly—aiming to help IT admins diagnose crashes faster. The change arrives alongside the new Quick Machine Recovery feature.
