EU Vows Swift Blowback After Trump Threatens 100% Retaliatory Tariffs

The European Commission has hit back after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a 100% tariff on any country taxing American digital giants. Defending its "sovereign right" to regulate economic activity, the EU stated its digital services taxes apply fairly to all large firms without discrimination. Warning that unilateral U.S. measures are completely unjustified, the bloc vowed to respond "swiftly and decisively" to protect its regulatory autonomy.
