Shopping on Autopilot: AI Agents Can Now Negotiate and Pay via UPI

Pine Labs has launched the Pine Labs Payment Protocol (P3P), India's first agent-to-agent payment system. By extending UPI’s standing mandate framework to machines, it allows users to authorize a one-time mandate to an AI agent.These autonomous AI agents can independently monitor markets, negotiate prices, and execute transactions—like buying gold when prices drop—without requiring real-time human authentication at the point of sale.
