Boots on the Ground: AWS Launches $1B Embedded AI Unit

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is investing $1 billion into a new Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) unit. Following similar moves by OpenAI and Anthropic, AWS is the first major cloud hyperscaler to deploy thousands of its own engineers directly inside client facilities. The goal is to help businesses co-develop and launch agentic AI systems rapidly while building self-sufficient infrastructure.
