Skyways Ahead: India Unveils Its First Electric Air Taxi Prototype

Chennai-based startup The ePlane Company, an IIT Madras spinoff, has unveiled PT-01, India’s first full-scale electric air taxi prototype. Featuring a 110 km range and a compact footprint designed to land on standard helipads, early testing will be pilotless. Commercial operations are targeted for 2028, launching initially for emergency medical transport before expanding to urban passenger travel.
