Johnson & Johnson secured FDA marketing authorization for its Ottava robotic surgical system, officially entering the US soft-tissue robotic surgery market. Featuring table-integrated arms, Ottava takes up 30% to 50% less space than traditional boom- or cart-mounted systems. This compact design allows hospitals to introduce robotic surgery to smaller operating rooms that previously could not fit large equipment.
