Win for Big AI: Delhi High Court Rules OpenAI’s Training Fits Fair Use Exception

The Delhi High Court rejected news agency Asian News International's (ANI) plea for an interim injunction against OpenAI, ruling that storing news content to train ChatGPT prima facie falls under "fair dealing" provisions in Indian copyright law. The judge noted that generated outputs were not substantially similar to ANI's reporting and warning that an injunction would cause irreparable harm to the public.
