Elon Musk Files to Dismiss SEC’s Lawsuit Over Delayed Disclosure of Twitter Stake

Elon Musk has filed a motion in U.S. federal court to dismiss the Securities and Exchange Commission’s civil lawsuit accusing him of an 11-day delay in disclosing his 2022 purchase of a significant stake in Twitter (now X). The SEC alleges that Musk waited until April 4 to disclose his ownership, enabling him to buy over $500 million in shares at lower prices.
