Fueling Fraud? US Gas Giants Sued for Using AI to Rig Pump Prices

California drivers have filed a class-action lawsuit against major fuel retailers—including Walmart, 7-Eleven, BP, and Marathon. The suit alleges the companies used an AI pricing tool by Kalibrate to pool competitor data and artificially inflate gasoline prices. Plaintiffs claim this algorithmic price-fixing has boosted costs by up to 30 cents per gallon in a state that already suffers America's highest fuel prices.
