A new survey by Germany’s Ifo Institute reveals that nearly 20% of German companies using artificial intelligence find it easy to replace university-educated employees with AI-supported staff who lack a degree. The trend is most prominent in trade and services, where AI acts as an equalizer for formal qualifications. Additionally, 15% of firms report that AI allows inexperienced workers to easily match the output of seasoned professionals.
