Unleashing Claude 5: Anthropic Strikes Deal With US Government

The US Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Anthropic’s advanced AI models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, following a mid-June suspension over national security concerns. In exchange for global redeployment, Anthropic is scaling up collaboration with Washington, giving the US government pre-release access for safety evaluations and implementing new cybersecurity classifiers to block potential exploitation.
